This screen lists all traits and trait instances associated with the trial. A trait instance is a single occurrence of a trait being used. Multiple trait instances can be used in a trial so that one trait can be used more than once. A trial may have many traits (or trait instances) associated with it however, all traits do not necessarily need to be visible or scored during every scoring session. Traits/instances may be hidden or visible to make scoring more efficient by decluttering the Scoring Screen in both Path and Spreadsheet Scoring Modes. The Star Icon will determine whether the trait/instance will be used in the current scoring session. A filled star indicates that the trait will be used, the empty star indicates that it will not be used, and for traits with multiple instances, a half star indicates that not all instances will be used. Select the star at the top of the list or the Select None/Select All Button to select or deselect all traits and instances. ctx_help_simple_scoring_mode	<p><strong>Sheet Scoring Mode</strong> is a simple sheet-style view, similar to CSV or Excel document. This mode presents all traits for %1$s and %2$s in a spreadsheet and selecting a cell will allow for entering of data. It has limited %1$s navigation features and can be slower to score, but many users find the view familiar and easy to use. Additionally, <strong>Spreadsheet Scoring Mode</strong> includes <strong>Field View</strong> which displays a top-down view of the field.</p> <p><a name="Scoring"></a></p> <h5>Scoring</h5> <p>To score either a %1$s-level or %2$s level trait, select the trait value to open the <strong>Trait Measurement Screen</strong>. The data that needs to be entered will depend on the trait data type e.g. integer, category, decimal, etc. Swipe between the <strong>Trait Tab</strong> and the <strong>%1$s Info Tab</strong> to see more information about the current %1$s. The following buttons are available to use for scoring traits:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Cancel Button</strong> - Cancels the scoring of the selected trait. Cancelling will return the user to the <strong>Scoring Screen</strong>;</li> <li><strong>Delete Value Button</strong> - Deletes a current value and returns the user to the <strong>Scoring Screen</strong>;</li> <li><strong>Missing Value Button</strong> - Applies the value of <em>Missing</em> to a trait instance. This can be used if the actual value is missing;</li> <li><strong>Not Applicable Button</strong> - Applies the value of <em>Not Applicable</em> to a trait instance. This also allows the user to choose the <strong>Auto-Advance Mode</strong> which is the quickest way to score but will be explained further below. Additionally, <strong>Path Scoring Mode</strong> includes <strong>Field View</strong> which displays a top-down view of your field.</p> <p><strong>Path Scoring Mode</strong> is designed for easy navigation between %1$s as the user physically walks through a field, scores the traits, and then moves to the next %1$s on the <strong>Scoring Screen</strong>.</p> <p>The number of %1$s available to score at once will depend on the size of the <em>Visit Group</em> that will be determined in the <strong>Scoring Configuration</strong> and will be between one and four. ctx_help_scoring_aa	<p><strong>Auto-advance</strong> enables the fast and efficient measurement of traits in <strong>Path Scoring Mode</strong>. It works by automatically moving to the next trait after a trait is scored.</p> <p>To enable <strong>Auto-advance</strong>, select the <strong>Auto-advance Button</strong>. This will display a window that provides the following options:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Auto-advance Is Off</strong> - This option will turn off <strong>Auto-advance</strong>.</li> <li><strong>All traits</strong> - <strong>Auto-advance</strong> will move to every trait, even if it has already been scored.</li> <li><strong>Unscored Traits</strong> - <strong>Auto-advance</strong> will only move to traits that have not been scored yet.</li> </ul> <p>Once <strong>Auto-advance</strong> is active, select any %1$s or %2$s level trait to begin scoring. It will open up the <strong>Trait Measurement Screen</strong> where a trait value can be set. Once a value is set, the screen will be transitioned to the next trait to score. What trait is next will depend on both collection order and trait order which can be determined in the <strong>Options Tab</strong>and <strong>Trait/Instance Tab</strong> of the <strong>Scoring Configuration Screen</strong>. The <strong>Trait Measurement Screen</strong> will also provide additional <strong>Backward/Forward Buttons</strong> which will navigate to the previous trait or skip the current trait and move to the next.</p> <p>There will be a transition animation when moving to another trait. ctx_help_scoring_setup	<p>The <strong>Options Tab</strong> of the <strong>Scoring Configuration Screen</strong> provides general options for scoring the selected trial. These options will be saved for next time if the trial is opened with a quick start from the <strong>Home Screen</strong>.</p> <p><a name=Collection-Order></a></p> <h5>Collection Order</h5> <p>The <em>collection order</em> is the order that you will move from one %1$s to the next and is chosen by selecting one of the 16 radio buttons that provide options. This is only relevant in <strong>Path Scoring Mode</strong>. There are three considerations for the collection order:</p> <p>1. Origin - The corner of the field to start scoring in. This is determined by what corner is chosen e.g. lower-left;<br />2. Direction - What direction will be taken from the origin e.g. left to right from the lower-left origin; and<br />3. Path - Choose a serpentine or straight path.</p> <p>The default collection order option is serpentine, left to right from the lower-left. The default can be changed in the <strong>Settings</strong>.</p> <p><a name=Scoring-View></a></p> <h5>Scoring View</h5> <p>Scoring views change the way that you score data.</p> <ul> <li><strong>Spreadsheet Scoring Mode</strong> is a traditional spreadsheet view with added features;</li> <li><strong>Path Scoring Mode</strong> is the best choice for most users and allows for easy navigation between %1$s; and</li> <li><strong>Field Scoring Mode</strong> which represents the field from a top-down perspective.</li> </ul> <p>The default scoring mode can also be set in <strong>Settings</strong></p> <p><strong>Field View</strong> is also available in <strong>Spreadsheet Scoring Mode</strong> and <strong>Path Scoring Mode</strong> but it not the main method of navigation and scoring. <strong>Field Scoring Mode</strong> also contains a spreadsheet like in <strong>Spreadsheet Scoring Mode</strong>.</p> <p><a name=%1$s-Per-Group></a></p> <h5>%1$s Per Group</h5> <p>How many %1$s to score at one time e.g. scoring each %1$s to your left and right whilst walking along the field would be two %1$s.</p> <p><a name=Lock-Scored-Traits></a></p> <h5>Lock Scored Traits</h5> <p>Select the <strong>Lock Scored Trait Checkbox</strong> to prevent accidentally overwriting traits that have already been scored. ctx_help_scoring_setup_trait_instances	<p>This screen lists all traits and trait instances associated with the trial. A trait instance is a single occurrence of a trait being used. Multiple trait instances can be used in a trial so that one trait can be used more than once.</p> <p>A trial may have many traits (or trait instances) associated with it however, all traits do not necessarily need to be visible or scored during every scoring session. Traits/instances may be hidden or visible to make scoring more efficient by decluttering the <strong>Scoring Screen</strong> in both <strong>Path</strong> and <strong>Spreadsheet Scoring Modes</strong>.</p> <p>The <strong>Star Icon</strong> will determine whether the trait/instance will be used in the current scoring session. A filled star indicates that the trait will be used, the empty star indicates that it will not be used, and for traits with multiple instances, a half star indicates that not all instances will be used.</p> <p>Select the star at the top of the list or the <strong>Select None/Select All Button</strong> to select or deselect all traits and instances. The <strong>Menu Button</strong> next to the <strong>Select None/All Button</strong>provides the following options for the traits:</p> <ul> <li>The <strong>Add Trait Bundle Button</strong> opens the <strong>Add Trait Bundle Screen</strong> where existing trait bundles can be added to the trial;</li> <li>The <strong>Add Traits Button</strong> enables the selection of saved traits to add to the trial; and</li> <li>The <strong>Trait Order Button</strong> option allows for choosing a trait scoring order.</li> </ul> <p>The <strong>Manage Trait Button</strong> next to each trait/instance provides further options for each trait/instance:</p> <ul> <li>Add a trait to the trial with the <strong>Add Trait Button</strong>;</li> <li>The <strong>Move Up Button</strong> allows you to move the selected trait up in the scoring order;</li> <li>The <strong>Move Down Button</strong> allows you to move the selected trait down in the scoring order;</li> <li>Add a trait description with the <strong>Edit Description Button</strong>; and</li> <li>Remove a trait from the trial with the <strong>Remove Button</strong>.</li> </ul> <p>Traits with multiple instances are grouped by the trait name and have an instance number. Expand the trait by selecting the <strong>Dropdown Button</strong> or selecting the trait with a short press. ctx_help_simple_scoring	<p><strong>Spreadsheet View</strong> is the is a simple version of the spreadsheet available in <strong>Spreadsheet Scoring Mode</strong>.</p> <p><strong>Spreadsheet View</strong> is a simple sheet-style view, similar to CSV or Excel document. This view presents all traits for %1$s and %2$s in a spreadsheet and selecting a cell will allow for entering of data. It has limited %1$s navigation features and can be slower to score, but many users find the view familiar and easy to use. It differs from <strong>Spreadsheet Scoring Mode</strong> in that it has more limited options it is used in conjunction with <strong>Field Scoring Mode</strong>. The %1$s available in <strong>Spreadsheet View</strong> are the %1$s selected in <strong>Field Scoring Mode</strong>.</p> <p><a name=Scoring></a></p> <h5>Scoring</h5> <p>To score either a %1$s-level or %2$s level trait, select the trait value to open the <strong>Trait Measurement Screen</strong>. The data that needs to be entered will depend on the trait data type e.g. integer, category, decimal, etc. Swipe between the <strong>Trait Tab</strong> and the <strong>%1$s Info Tab</strong> to see more information about the current %1$s. The following buttons are available to use for scoring traits:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Cancel Button</strong> - Cancels the scoring of the selected trait. Cancelling will return the user to the <strong>Scoring Screen</strong>;</li> <li><strong>Delete Value Button</strong> - Deletes a current value and returns the user to the <strong>Scoring Screen</strong>;</li> <li><strong>Missing Value Button</strong> - Applies the value of <em>Missing</em> to a trait instance. This can be used if the actual value is missing;</li> <li><strong>Not Applicable Button</strong> - Applies the value of <em>Not Applicable</em> to a trait instance. This can be used when the trait does not need to be scored for the selected %1$s or %2$s;</li> <li><strong>Accept Value Button</strong> - Accepts and applies a value that has been entered such as confirming a decimal trait; and</li> <li><strong>Date Button</strong> - Opens a <em>Date Picker</em> so that a date can be chosen (only available for elapsed days traits).</li> </ul> <p><a name=%1$s%2$s></a></p> <h5>%1$s/%2$s</h5> <p>Along with listed traits, each %1$s and %2$s will have a <strong>%1$s/%2$s Button</strong>. This will open the <strong>Tags Window</strong> where any available tags can be applied by selecting the checkbox and then the <strong>Confirm Button</strong>. Select the <strong>Add Button</strong> to open up a window where a new tag can be created.</p> <p>Attachments for each %1$s and %2$s can also be added by selecting the <strong>Attachment Button</strong> to open up the <strong>Attachments Screen</strong>. The number of options that will be available to edit will depend on whether a trait is <em>protected</em> or not.</p> <p>A protected trait is one that has been imported with a Database Trait ID. For protected traits, only changes to the trait alias and to the validation rule are permitted.
